Stafford Creek Corrections Center is a 1,936-bed multi-custody facility located five miles west of Aberdeen, on the southern Washington Coast. There are seven living units for medium and minimum long-term custody Incarcerated Individuals and a restrictive housing unit for maximum-custody Incarcerated Individuals. SCCC was Washington State's first tobacco-free facility for both staff and Incarcerated Individuals. Duty:
Direct, supervise and train a crew of Incarcerated Individual workers engaged in the performance of skilled electrical and mechanical work on the maintenance and repair of heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, refrigeration, kitchen appliances, electronic controls, natural gas equipment and other systems and mechanical equipment as needed.
Tasks include:
• Ensure that all safety and security procedures are followed, including confined spaces, PPE, lockout tagout, and other relevant manufacturer, OSHA, and DOC safety and security procedures and policy.
• Ensure all tool and key accountability policies and procedures are adhered to. Perform daily tool counts and maintain tool and key logs.
• Operate computer, controllers, and system tools and use telephones and radios.
• Supervise a work crew of Incarcerated Individuals. Hire, train, and schedule Incarcerated work crews and assign work.
• Ensure Incarcerated Individuals on assigned work crew have adequate safety and equipment training.
• Encourage positive development of Incarcerated Individuals and their knowledge and ability to perform trade work.
