The state supported living centers serve people with intellectual and developmental disabilities who are medically fragile or who have behavioral problems. The centers provide campus-based direct services and supports at 13 centers located throughout the state.

• Perform highly complex custodial work, including cleaning and sanitizing residents’ homes, bedrooms, office spaces, medical and activity areas.
• Conduct inspections of buildings and equipment to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met.
• Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, monitor stock levels, restock, and maintain accurate records.
• Provide backup support to other custodians and assist the Custodial Manager in overseeing custodial functions.
• Keep accurate records of custodial activities such as cleaning schedules, maintenance tasks, and incidents.
• Analyze current custodial operations and identify areas for improved efficiency and effectiveness.
• Ensure buildings and cleaning equipment are properly maintained and repaired.
• Work independently with considerable latitude for initiative and judgment.
• Act as lead to other custodians and support the Custodial Manager during absences.

• Attend work on a regular basis, following a specific shift schedule, with potential rotating schedules, extended shifts, or overtime.
• Cleans various areas within the facility, using appropriate cleaning agents and techniques to eliminate pathogens and maintain a sterile environment.
• Handle biohazardous materials and disinfect medical equipment.
• Conduct regular and scheduled inspections of facility areas and cleaning equipment, assessing safety standards.
• Track cleaning supplies and equipment in the database, monitor stock levels, initiate reordering, and manage storage.
• Provide backup support to other custodians and collaborate to maintain smooth operations.
• Assist the Custodial Manager in assigning tasks, managing schedules, and maintaining high cleanliness standards.
• Record details of custodial activities, including schedules, maintenance, and incidents.
• Assess all aspects of custodial operations, gather records, analyze workflow, and evaluate resource allocation.
• Implement preventive maintenance programs and coordinate repairs or upgrades.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including disaster response and COOP activation, possibly requiring alternate shift patterns or locations.

• Knowledge of cleaning methods, standards, and sanitation regulations.
