About

The Role

As a Food and Beverage Intern
, you will have the opportunity to be fully immersed in the Food and Beverage Department and hotel outlets (e.g. Sofra bld Restaurant, Afya Restaurant, Shang Palace Restaurant, Bord Eau Restaurant, Pool Bar / Amalfi, Banquet, Lobby Lounge, and Private Dining), learning at different levels of responsibility, and working with a team. You will also provide excellent customer service, maintaining high standards of hospitality and guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Welcoming guests with a pleasant smile, menu presentation, and taking the orders accurately as per the Shangri‑La standards and policy.
  • Serving food and beverage by delivering orders to tables promptly and ensuring that everything is served correctly.
  • Familiarity in using POS systems for order entry and payment processing.
  • Maintaining cleanliness by keeping tables, utensils, and the dining area clean and organized throughout the shift.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to keep excellent service standards and be prepared to assist other Shangri‑La colleagues/departments in a thoughtful manner.
  • Empathetically listen to client queries/complaints and work with colleagues/management to find solutions.
About You
  • Maintains a growth mindset and willingness to learn the skills and knowledge of housekeeping.
  • Great teamwork skills, attention to detail, efficient, punctual, and flexible to work on a shifting schedule, weekends and holidays.
  • Warm, friendly, can‑do attitude, and the desire to always deliver the Shangri‑La experience.
  • High School, Diploma, and/or Hospitality graduate would be preferred.
  • Previous customer service and/or Food and Beverage experience in luxury hospitality/customer service is a plus.
  • Lives and breathes the Shangri‑La culture.
