The Janitor is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, sanitary, and professional office environment throughout the law firm. This role supports the daily operations of the firm by ensuring all common areas, restrooms, kitchens, conference rooms, offices, and client-facing spaces are consistently clean, stocked, and presentation-ready.
The ideal candidate takes pride in cleanliness, works independently, pays attention to detail, and understands the importance of maintaining a professional environment for employees and clients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities General Cleaning & Maintenance- Clean and sanitize restrooms, including sinks, toilets, mirrors, counters, and floors
- Restock restroom supplies including soap, paper towels, and toilet paper
- Clean and maintain kitchen and breakroom areas
- Wash dishes or load/unload dishwasher as needed
- Empty trash and replace liners throughout the office
- Vacuum carpets and mop hard-surface floors
- Dust desks, furniture, baseboards, windowsills, and common areas
- Clean glass doors, mirrors, and interior windows
- Wipe down high-touch surfaces including door handles, conference tables, counters, and appliances
- Ensure conference rooms are clean, organized, and presentation-ready
- Clean tables, chairs, and shared equipment
- Maintain cleanliness in reception and lobby areas
- Prepare client-facing areas to maintain a professional appearance at all times
- Monitor cleaning supply inventory and notify management when supplies are low
- Properly store cleaning chemicals and equipment
- Maintain janitorial closets and storage areas in an organized manner
- Follow all company safety procedures and proper cleaning protocols
- Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and responsibly
- Report maintenance issues, damage, or safety concerns promptly
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while working in office areas
- Previous janitorial, custodial, or office cleaning experience preferred
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and consistency
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 40 pounds
- Ability to stand, bend, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods
- Professional attitude and respect for confidential office environments
- Indoor office environment
- May require early morning, evening, or weekend cleaning schedules depending on business needs
- Frequent walking, bending, lifting, and repetitive cleaning tasks
