Director of Maintenance / MRO Leadership

This role leads and oversees aircraft maintenance operations within a maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) environment. The Director of Maintenance ensures safe, compliant, and efficient maintenance activities while providing hands-on support with inspections, repairs, and modifications. This position combines technical expertise with strong leadership to guide maintenance personnel, uphold regulatory standards, and maintain high levels of quality and reliability across the fleet.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee day-to-day aircraft maintenance operations within the MRO environment, ensuring all work meets safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Repair, modify, replace, or otherwise perform routine aircraft maintenance work in a safe and timely manner.
  • Accurately complete required maintenance-related paperwork and effectively utilize maintenance tracking software.
  • Communicate effectively with maintenance personnel at all levels, keeping co-workers and leadership informed of work progress and any difficulties as they arise.
  • Access, interpret, and correctly follow instructions published in aircraft maintenance manuals and related technical documentation.
  • Complete on-the-job training (OJT) forms and all required reading in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensure accurate timekeeping by clocking into jobs correctly and monitoring time spent on assigned tasks.
  • Support and participate in general cleanup of the work area to maintain a safe, organized, and efficient workspace.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, including aircraft movement and customer service activities, while maintaining a professional and service-oriented approach.
  • Serve as a positive and professional representative of the maintenance team when interacting with regulatory authorities such as FAA, DOT, and TSA.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement by encouraging team members to develop new skills and maintain regulatory and technical knowledge.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities meet regulatory requirements under 14 CFR Part 145 and align with internal policies and procedures.

Essential Skills

  • Demonstrated desire and ability to learn new tasks and adapt to changing maintenance requirements.
  • Consistent and reliable attendance, with a strong sense of responsibility and accountability.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office and email clients.
  • Ability to use or learn maintenance tracking software; experience with TRAXXAL and CAMPS is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with maintenance personnel at all levels regarding job-related issues.
  • Ability to work with or learn to work with basic tools and mechanical systems used in aircraft maintenance.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • High school education or equivalent.
  • FAA Airframe or Powerplant license (A&P) required.
  • Experience working with mechanical systems, repair, blueprint reading, preventive maintenance, and avionics.
  • Ability to meet all regulatory requirements under 14 CFR Part 145.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 5+ years of aviation maintenance experience preferred.
  • Experience working on Cessna Citation aircraft is preferred.
  • Experience working on Gulfstream aircraft is preferred.
  • Experience working on King Air aircraft is beneficial.
  • Hands-on experience with avionics systems is advantageous.
  • Previous leadership experience in a maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) environment or as a Director of Maintenance (DOM) is highly valued.

Work Environment

Work takes place primarily in a non-climate-controlled hangar environment. The role requires comfort working in varying temperatures and conditions typical of an active hangar. The environment is hands-on and operational, with close collaboration among maintenance technicians, inspectors, and leadership to support safe and efficient aircraft operations.

This is a Permanent position based out of Addison, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $93600.00 - $114400.00/yr. offer health vision and dental PTO and vacation
