Lenawee Christian School and the Christian Family Centre, located in Adrian, MI.

The Housekeeping Specialist is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment across Lenawee Christian Ministries facilities. This role performs a variety of custodial and sanitation duties, including routine cleaning, deep cleaning, and facility upkeep.
This position requires strong attention to detail, consistency, and adherence to safety and sanitation standards. The Housekeeping Specialist is also expected to identify maintenance needs and communicate concerns to appropriate leadership.
This role is scheduled for evening shift operations (4:00 PM – 12:00 AM).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES . Facility Cleaning & Sanitation- Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, and dusting assigned areas.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, locker rooms, and shower areas, including mirrors, fixtures, and surfaces.
- Remove trash and maintain cleanliness in all assigned areas.
- Clean windows and high-touch surfaces regularly.
- Operate cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, riding floor scrubbers, and power washing equipment as assigned.
- Perform deep cleaning tasks, including:
- Floor refinishing
- Carpet cleaning
- Seasonal or summer deep cleaning projects
- Maintain all cleaning equipment and tools in proper working condition.
- Monitor and restock paper products, soap, and other custodial supplies in assigned areas.
- Ensure assigned areas are fully stocked and ready for daily use.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain safe working conditions.
- Properly handle and use cleaning chemicals in accordance with training and safety guidelines.
- Maintain familiarity with Safety Data Sheets (SDS/MSDS) for all chemicals used.
- Report safety concerns, hazards, or incidents promptly.
- Observe and report maintenance issues or repair needs to the Housekeeping Manager or Maintenance team.
- Support minor maintenance-related tasks as directed.
- Follow assigned cleaning schedules and complete all assigned areas during each shift.
- Demonstrate strong time management and attention to detail.
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and presentation throughout the facility.

- Support a clean, welcoming, and hospitable environment for all students, members, and guests.
- Profess and demonstrate a personal commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

- Demonstrate spiritual maturity, humility, and a strong commitment to excellence and servant leadership
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 1+ year of custodial or housekeeping experience preferred.
- Basic knowledge of custodial practices, cleaning techniques, and equipment.
- Ability to safely handle and use cleaning chemicals.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow routines and schedules.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Ability to stand, walk, and remain active for the duration of the shift.
- Ability to lift and carry 20–40 pounds regularly.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including bending, lifting, and extended movement.
- This position is classified as full-time, hourly, non-exempt and is eligible for overtime pay in accordance with applicable wage and hour laws.
- Employees are required to accurately record all hours worked.
- The standard schedule for this position is evening shift (4:00 PM – 12:00 AM), with occasional adjustments based on operational needs.
- Regular, reliable, and on-site attendance is required.
