Job Summary:

The School Cleaning Maid is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment throughout the school. This position plays a vital role in supporting a healthy learning atmosphere for students, staff, and visitors by ensuring all assigned areas are thoroughly cleaned and maintained according to school standards.

Key Responsibilities:

* Clean classrooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, cafeterias, gymnasiums, and other school areas daily

* Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and disinfect floors and surfaces

* Empty and sanitize trash and recycling bins

* Restock restroom supplies (toilet paper, soap, paper towels, etc.)

* Clean windows, mirrors, and glass doors

* Maintain cleaning equipment and report any repairs or supply needs

* Report any damage, hazards, or maintenance issues to the supervisor

* Secure doors and windows after cleaning, as needed

* Assist with setting up or cleaning after school events, meetings, or assemblies

* Follow safety procedures and wear protective gear as required

* Comply with school policies and regulations, including health and safety protocols

* Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Custodian or Administrator

Qualifications:

* High school diploma or equivalent preferred

* Previous cleaning or janitorial experience is a plus, especially in a school or commercial environment

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team

* Physically able to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting up to 30 lbs, bending, standing, and walking for extended periods

* Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented

* Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safe handling procedures

Work Environment:

* Work is performed indoors and occasionally outdoors in various school areas

* Exposure to cleaning agents and occasional contact with bodily fluids (with proper training and protective equipment)

* Must follow health and hygiene protocols, especially during flu seasons or health-related outbreaks
