School Cleaning Maid Reports To

The School Cleaning Maid is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment throughout the school. This position plays a vital role in supporting a healthy learning atmosphere for students, staff, and visitors by ensuring all assigned areas are thoroughly cleaned and maintained according to school standards.

• Clean classrooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, cafeterias, gymnasiums, and other school areas daily
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and disinfect floors and surfaces
• Empty and sanitize trash and recycling bins
• Restock restroom supplies (toilet paper, soap, paper towels, etc.)
• Clean windows, mirrors, and glass doors
• Maintain cleaning equipment and report any repairs or supply needs
• Report any damage, hazards, or maintenance issues to the supervisor
• Secure doors and windows after cleaning, as needed
• Assist with setting up or cleaning after school events, meetings, or assemblies
• Follow safety procedures and wear protective gear as required
• Comply with school policies and regulations, including health and safety protocols
• Perform other duties as assigned by Head Custodian or Administrator

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous cleaning or janitorial experience is a plus, especially in a school or commercial environment
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Physically able to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting up to 30 lbs, bending, standing, and walking for extended periods
• Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safe handling procedures

• Work is performed indoors and occasionally outdoors in various school areas
• Exposure to cleaning agents and occasional contact with bodily fluids (with proper training and protective equipment)
• Must follow health and hygiene protocols, especially during flu seasons or health-related outbreaks
