- Level 2 DCF Background check required.
Keeps buildings at P.K. Yonge sanitized and in orderly condition. Relies predominantly on instructions and pre-established department and CDC guidelines, but some job functions may require exercising some independent judgement. Works under general supervision. Reports directly to Custodial Supervisor.
Responsibilities include:
- Service, clean, or supply restrooms.
- Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
- Gather and empty trash.
- Clean windows, glass partitions, or mirrors.
- Dust furniture, walls, machines, or equipment.
- Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
- Clear debris from classrooms, walkways, sidewalks, and entrances.
- Clean spills and other hazards with appropriate equipment.
- Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.
- Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
- Assist, as needed, in delivery of shipments throughout campus.
- Monitor, clean and supply assigned work stations, including janitorial closets.
- Move furniture, equipment, or supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks.
- Set up, arrange, or remove decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, or scaffolding to prepare facilities for events, such as banquets or meetings.
- Drive vans, industrial trucks, or other vehicles required to travel to or to perform facility needs.
$16/hour
Required Qualifications- Completion of ninth grade.
- Valid Driver's license.
- Level 2 DCF Background check required.
Previous custodial experience preferred.

This is a time‑limited position.
One day position (7:30am-4:00pm) and one evening position (1:00pm-9:30pm) is needed. Occasional weekend work may be required, based on school needs.
