Plant Engineering Supervisor
The Plant Engineering Supervisor will serve as a key member of the Guin Plant Engineering organization and will report directly to the Plant Engineering Manager.
This position is designed to transition candidates from private, public, government or military environments into a 3M career focusing on plant safety, equipment reliability, and team development.
Responsibilities- Create and maintain a safe, healthy and sustainable workplace through active and visible leadership.
- Provide direct supervision to assigned employees through coaching and training, and direct craftwork for maintenance of equipment.
- Optimize resource utilization by providing work direction for the team.
- Ensure appropriate use of CMMS or other computerized maintenance records.
- Schedule, assign and direct craftspeople in the performance of tasks for plant maintenance.
- Drive the on‑time completion of Preventative Maintenance (PM).
- Act as liaison for Corrective Maintenance (CM) action items and coordinate resource allocation to manage the CM backlog.
- Evaluate equipment and maintenance history to recommend appropriate PM or Predictive Maintenance programs to maximize reliability.
- Participate in new employee selection, evaluate employee performance, and provide feedback.
- Complete administrative forms and reports to provide necessary information regarding maintenance tasks and personnel actions.
- Perform additional accountabilities as assigned by the Plant Engineering Manager.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a manufacturing environment in a private, public, government or military environment, or
- High School diploma or GED with six (6) years’ experience in a manufacturing environment in a private, public, government or military environment plus at least one (1) combined year of supervisory or leadership experience.
- Demonstrated communication skills (oral and written).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Maximo.
- One (1) combined year of supervisory and/or leadership experience in a manufacturing related environment.
- Additional qualifications that could help the candidate succeed include an associate’s degree in an industrial maintenance‑related field, or a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering.

Travel:
May include up to 5% domestic or international travel.
Shift: Day Shift.
