SUMMARYProvides floor maintenance and related services to ensure a safe, sanitary and comfortable environment for residents, staff, visitors, and the public.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Provides floor care (includes dust mopping, wet mopping, sanitizing, stripping and waxing) in assigned areas and throughout facility.
- Respects residents' privacy and preferences while performing duties. Knocks before entering resident rooms and bathrooms.
- Has knowledge and understanding of proper operation of all floor equipment including buffers and vacuums.
- Practices safe handling and operation of all floor equipment, ensuring a risk‑free environment for patients, staff, and visitors; takes appropriate actions to secure equipment out of reach of residents at all times.
- Daily maintenance and cleaning of all floor maintenance equipment.
- Disposes of trash and waste, including bio‑hazardous waste and other materials that require special handling, only in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Sufficient education to demonstrate functional literacy.
- Prior floor technician experience in an institutional setting preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENTWorking in institutional environment, employee may be required to sit, bend, stoop, see, talk and hear. May occasionally lift or move items of up to 75 pounds. Employee is occasionally exposed to blood or other body fluids, fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
