Role summary:

As a Technician in General Facilities Maintenance, you will perform routine preventive maintenance and repairs to ensure the safety, functionality, and appearance of facilities and equipment. This role requires expertise in multiple trades, including electrical, plumbing, and carpentry, to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently. You will manage work orders, coordinate with contractors, and comply with regulatory standards while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

The General Maintenance Technician team partners with internal and external stakeholders to deliver reliable facility services that support operational objectives. Emphasizing continuous improvement, clear communication, and accountability, the team applies expertise in preventive maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics across various trades. They efficiently manage resources while maintaining high facility standards, ensuring a safe and professional environment. Dedicated to quality service and safety compliance, this team plays a crucial role in sustaining facility excellence through collaboration and commitment to operational success.

What you’ll do:
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure safety, functionality, and appearance of facilities, equipment, and fixtures following established schedules and guidelines.
  • Inspect, clean, and repair facilities equipment, diagnosing issues using blueprints, manuals, and diagnostic tools.
  • Conduct major and minor repairs across multiple crafts including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry using hand and power tools.
  • Manage work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractor activities, ensuring compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations.
  • Document maintenance and repair activities, track parts and expenses, and submit warranty claims as needed.
  • Provide expert advice to support continuous improvement and alignment with business needs.
What you’ll bring:
  • Proven experience in preventive maintenance and facility repair to ensure safety and operational efficiency.
  • Proficiency in electrical diagnostics, plumbing systems, and use of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs for accurate troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and commitment to compliance.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractor coordination.
  • Capability to document maintenance activities and recommend repair or replacement needs effectively.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and adaptability to changing priorities and business needs.
