Janitor NWABSD On Call - Shungnak, AK

Job Description

NMS is currently seeking candidates for on-demand, on-call and rotational roles with flexible scheduling options. Employees may also have the opportunity to rotate or work in other NANA Villages as needed. This custodial position offers a competitive wage starting at $19.50 per hour DOE.

• Maintain cleanliness of school facilities by performing dusting, mopping, vacuuming, restroom cleaning, sanitizing, restocking, and related janitorial tasks.
• Arrive for each shift prepared to work efficiently and with a service-oriented approach.
• Remove trash and transport to appropriate disposal areas; assist with light maintenance such as changing light bulbs as needed.
• Contribute to a clean, safe, and welcoming school environment.

Minimum Requirements

• At least 6 months of experience with cleaning equipment and general cleaning processes.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and callouts.
• Fluency in speaking, reading, and writing English.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with a 3-year driving record acceptable to the company’s insurance carrier.

• Environment:
  Indoor/outdoor school facility; exposure to moderate weather conditions as applicable.

  Moderate.
• Office conditions:
  Medium pace of work environment.
• Customer interaction:
  High.
• Physical:
  Regularly walk and stand; frequently lift up to 50 pounds.

  None.
