Are you a skilled mechanic with leadership experience? Ready to spend your season working in one of Alaska’s most breathtaking locations?
Icy Strait Point is seeking a Lead Mechanic / Service Manager to oversee and perform maintenance on our fleet of vehicles and equipment while leading a small team of mechanics.
- Lead daily operations of the mechanic team
- Perform hands‑on diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance
- Maintain service schedules and ensure all vehicles meet DOT and internal safety standards
- Support transportation and operations teams with quick response to mechanical issues
- Keep maintenance logs, manage inventory, and coordinate with vendors
- 5+ years of mechanical experience (diesel/gas engines, hydraulics, electrical, etc.)
- 2+ years in a lead or supervisory role
- Strong problem‑solving, organizational, and communication skills
- Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred)
- Ability to work in a dynamic, outdoor environment
- Live and work in stunning Hoonah, Alaska
