Housing Cleaner - Denali Operations

The Housing Cleaner is responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming employee housing across NHG Denali properties. This role ensures all housing units are prepared and maintained for staff occupancy during seasonal operations. The ideal candidate takes pride in attention to detail, efficiency, and delivering a positive experience for every employee who uses NHG housing.
Key Responsibilities- Clean and maintain employee housing, including bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, common areas, and entryways.
- Change linens, restock supplies, and perform laundry duties as needed.
- Perform routine maintenance checks to ensure all housing systems (plumbing, lighting, appliances) are functional and report any issues to management.
- Maintain daily cleaning schedules and complete tasks within set time frames while meeting quality standards.
- Monitor housing supplies and report inventory needs to supervisors.
- Follow all NHG safety and health policies while handling cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Respond promptly to requests from staff for additional cleaning or maintenance support.
- Ensure trash removal, recycling, and proper disposal of waste materials.
- Inspect housing before employee check-in and after check-out to maintain cleanliness standards.
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1+ year of experience in housekeeping, janitorial, or cleaning roles preferred.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs, bend, kneel, stoop, and perform physical cleaning tasks.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred:
- Experience in hospitality or multi-unit housing environments.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals, safety procedures, and equipment use.
- Work is performed in employee housing units, including kitchens, bathrooms, and common areas.
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals, uneven surfaces, and variable weather conditions in Denali, Alaska, during spring and fall.
- Fast‑paced, physical work with attention to detail and safety.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting.
- Ability to lift, move, and carry items up to 30 lbs.
- Manual tasks may include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and moving furniture or supplies.
Seasonal, full‑time or part‑time based on housing occupancy needs.
Hours may vary, including weekends or evenings during peak housing turnover.
Hourly position; pay commensurate with experience.
