School Janitor – Cleaner – Hiring On Call! Kotzebue, AK

NMS is currently seeking candidates for on‑call and rotational roles with flexible scheduling options. Employees may also have the opportunity to rotate or work in other NANA Villages as needed.

Competitive wage – starting at $19.50/hour, DOE.

As a School Janitor – Cleaner you keep our facilities looking good. You arrive for each custodial shift ready to get to work cleaning, enjoying efficient work while being friendly and service oriented. Tasks include dusting, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, sanitizing, restocking rooms, and other janitorial work. You remove trash, transport it to appropriate areas, and help with light maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs.

At the end of each shift you see the school shine.

Minimum Requirements

• At least 6 months of experience demonstrating working knowledge of cleaning equipment and general cleaning processes
• Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, callouts, etc.
• Fluency in speaking, reading, and writing English

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Valid driver's license with a 3-year driving record acceptable to the company’s insurance carrier

Indoor/Outdoor (occasional exposure to moderate weather conditions). Noise level: moderate. Pace of work environment: medium. Customer interaction: high. Frequently required to walk and stand. Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
