Commercial Custodial Lead

The Commercial Custodial Lead is responsible for overseeing daily cleaning operations and providing direct leadership to Commercial Cleaning Technicians. This position ensures that all assigned facilities are cleaned to client standards, work is completed efficiently and safely, and team members are supported in their roles. The Lead serves as the primary point of contact on-site, helping maintain quality, accountability, and professionalism while fostering a positive team environment.

Key Responsibilities Team Leadership

• Lead, supervise, and support Commercial Cleaning Technicians during assigned shifts.
• Assign daily tasks and ensure work is completed according to schedule.
• Train new team members on cleaning procedures, equipment use, and safety practices.
• Monitor attendance, punctuality, and job performance.
• Provide coaching and corrective guidance when needed.
• Serve as the first point of contact for on-site questions and concerns.

Cleaning & Facility Maintenance

• Perform custodial duties alongside team members as needed.
• Ensure all assigned areas are cleaned, sanitized, and maintained according to client expectations.
• Inspect completed work and conduct quality checks.
• Restock cleaning supplies, paper products, and sanitation materials as needed.
• Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or facility issues promptly.

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with all workplace safety procedures and company policies.
• Promote proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Maintain a safe, organized, and professional work environment.
• Report accidents, incidents, or injuries immediately.

Communication & Reporting

• Communicate regularly with other leaders regarding staffing, supply needs, and site conditions.
• Document completed tasks and submit reports as required.
• Maintain positive and professional relationships with clients and facility staff.

Qualifications Required

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous custodial, janitorial, or commercial cleaning experience.
• Demonstrated leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience.
• Ability to work independently and manage a small team.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to perform repetitive cleaning tasks for extended periods.
• Comfortable working evenings, weekends, or flexible schedules as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading custodial teams in schools, offices, healthcare facilities, or commercial properties.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and industry best practices.
• Experience conducting inspections and quality assurance reviews.
