Maintenance Services Supervisor
The Maintenance Services Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the maintenance and repair activities within a designated area or facility. This role involves managing a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring proper execution of maintenance tasks, adhering to safety protocols, and optimizing the efficiency of maintenance operations. The Maintenance Services Supervisor plays a crucial role in maintaining the functionality, safety, and appearance of the facility.
Minimum qualifications include two years of college or technical diploma in Building Maintenance or related field; five years of experience in building maintenance and/or general maintenance/construction activities; prior experience supervising and coordinating multiple crews at numerous sites; valid Driver's Georgia driver's license with a clean driving record; and such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent and the Board may find appropriate.
Skills and abilities
include excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective team management and collaboration; problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve complex maintenance issues; knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards in maintenance operations; ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously; ability to implement and maintain a comprehensive inventory system; experience in Google & Microsoft Office Products to include Google Email, Google Sheets & Docs, Word, and Excel;
experience in School Dude Educational Facility Management Software preferred; and must be physically able to perform all standard tasks related to the job assignment.
Performance responsibilities include supervising and leading a team of maintenance technicians, assigning tasks, setting performance expectations, and providing guidance; conducting regular performance reviews, offering feedback, and identifying opportunities for training and development; planning and coordinating maintenance activities, including routine inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance tasks; prioritizing maintenance requests and allocating resources effectively to ensure timely completion of tasks. Possess a strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems to provide guidance and support to maintenance technicians;
troubleshoots complex maintenance issues and provides technical solutions; enforces and promotes adherence to safety protocols and procedures during maintenance activities; ensures that the maintenance team complies with relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards; monitors inventory levels of maintenance supplies and equipment; coordinates with procurement to ensure the availability of necessary materials and tools; maintains accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs, and inspections;
coordinates with the Transportation Department about maintaining the inventory of fleet vehicles; generates regular reports on maintenance performance, including metrics such as downtime, response times, and completion rates; coordinates with external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance tasks; reviews vendor performance and ensures that work meets quality standards; assists in developing and managing the maintenance budget, including tracking expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities;
identifies areas for process improvement and efficiency enhancement within the maintenance department; implements best practices and innovative solutions to optimize maintenance operations; and performs other such duties needed or assigned by the Supervisor.

Salary range:
