Job Summary
Under general supervision performs basic general technical tasks on electrical systems, fire safety systems, HVAC systems, mechanical and plumbing systems, and architectural systems. Architectural systems may include, but are not limited to interior and exterior doors (including fire and some doors), ceiling systems, and wall systems. General tasks may include trouble‑shooting minor issues on the pneumatic tube system, patient beds, nurse call systems, and televisions.
General tasks also include shop cleanup and other general maintenance and upkeep. Works with a team and takes initiative. Helps maintain departmental compliance with governmental standards with documentation and with computerized maintenance management systems. Maintains a clean, neat and safe work environment.
- High School Diploma required
- Vocational / Technical in Electrical, Mechanical, or Building Maintenance preferred
- Entry Level Electrical repair, HVAC, and/or Mechanical maintenance, installation or contracting (Required)
- 1 year Healthcare or hospital facility maintenance setting (Preferred)

- Adheres to the hospital and departmental attendance and punctuality guidelines.
- Performs all job responsibilities in alignment with the core values, mission and vision of the organization.
- Performs other duties as required and completes all job functions as per departmental policies and procedures.
- Maintains current knowledge in present areas of responsibility (i.e., self education, attends ongoing educational programs).
- Attends staff meetings and completes mandatory in‑services and requirements and competency evaluations on time.
- Demonstrates competency at all levels in providing care to all patients based on age, sex, weight, and demonstrated needs.
- For non‑clinical areas, has attended training and demonstrates usage of age‑specific customer service skills.
- Wears protective clothing and equipment as appropriate.
