Position Summary
Site Services Technician is responsible for performing a variety of routine manual tasks in maintaining the appearance and conditions of grounds, walkways, roads and buildings at NY Creates.

- Cleaning grounds, roadways, and structures by sweeping, raking, shoveling, plowing, mowing, and removing litter.
- Assisting in site preparation, planting, and maintenance of various plants and grass; installing and maintaining fences, guide rails, signs, and walkways
- Snow removal of parking lots and walkways; operating lawn mowers, plows, tractors, trucks, and related power equipment; mounting and dismounting major assemblies, such as plows and salt spreaders
- Maintaining vehicles and equipment by cleaning, lubricating, and replacing simple parts such as wipers, tires, and batteries
- Assisting in the daily operation of NY Creates through support of general site services.
Duties include: - Performing a variety of routine and basic construction, maintenance, and repair tasks
- Cleaning, lubricating, and maintaining electrical and mechanical machinery, equipment and tools; transporting material and tools to site work locations; lifting and placing equipment such as ladders and scaffolds
- Removing materials preparatory to repair and construction through use of hand tools; mixing and applying concrete, mortar, paving materials, paints and other substances
- Replacing fuses, light bulbs, washers, faucets, and shelving; performing minor maintenance repairs, such as unclogging drains, cutting sheet metal, fixing/replacing hinges; general custodial maintenance; assisting in exterior/interior painting
- Setting up and removing furniture, partitions, displays and equipment for office moves, conferences, meetings and special events
- Moving furniture, office equipment and records
- Assisting in the receiving and shipping of various materials
- Picking up and delivering supplies and equipment
- Loading/unloading trucks; inspecting site areas to determine damage and hazards
- Removing obstructions and/or making simple repairs, reporting need for additional repair
- Other reasonable duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Ability to communicate with supervisor, members of work crew, and community concerning work activities
- Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions; written communications are generally restricted to completing simple forms and reports
- Ability to use tools, machines, equipment and materials required of assigned projects; physically perform the duties assigned, including heavy labor at times; ability to climb ladders and work at heights on scaffolds and platforms
- Working knowledge of safety standards and procedures
- Possession of a valid New York State driver's license is required for certain vehicles required of this position
- This position is contingent on the satisfactory completion of a background check; annual background checks may be required
- Three (3) years' experience in grounds and maintenance work

Salary Range- Night Shift receives a shift differential of 15% from 7:00pm-7:30am; a minimum of 4 hours must be worked during these hours to receive shift differential
- Posted salary rates are determined upon experience and education
