Preseason training includes up to 5 hours of virtual training, an on-site orientation and safety training. In-season work is weather-dependent, with no traditional weekly schedule—we work when it snows and often for several days following a storm. Hours vary based on storm activity, operational needs, and availability, with shifts of up to 12hours per day and overtime as needed.

Mileage reimbursement:
Available for team members traveling more than 20 miles to the worksite, with reimbursement based on travel distance. During major winter events, overnight accommodations may also be provided. These stays are arranged as needed and typically last 2-6 days.

At JMC, our work goes beyond clearing snow—we remove dangerous snow and ice buildup from the tops of tractor-trailers before those trailers return to the road, using specialized equipment to help reduce the risk of snow and ice coming off moving trailers and creating hazards for other motorists.

As a Facility Supervisor, you will work at one location which is a specific distribution center nearest to you. Working alongside and leading a team typically consisting of 3–4 employees, you’ll perform hands-on snow and ice removal services on an average of approximately 100 trailers per day, helping ensure services are completed safely, efficiently, and to JMC’s standards.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You’ll work right alongside your team, performing the same snow and ice removal work as the Facility Technicians you supervise—not just directing from the sidelines. When ice is present, this includes working from a secured platform and using a long-handled mallet to physically break up ice buildup on the tops of tractor-trailers so the scraper system can remove it.

This can be labor-intensive work requiring repeated physical effort; however, team members work together and rotate responsibilities throughout the service to help distribute the physical demands of the job.

In addition to performing the work, you’ll support and develop your team, provide training and feedback, and help ensure services are completed safely, efficiently, and to JMC’s standards. Snowplow experience is strongly preferred for this position, as Facility Supervisors are expected to be prepared to operate a snowplow as operational needs require. Experience operating front-wheel loaders is also highly valued.
