Job Description

Performs inventory, control, routine, and clerical work which follows established procedures. Maintains inventory stock & equipment, records, files, makes copies, and performs data entry duties. Monitors and ensures accuracy, propriety, and completeness of inventory, invoices, reports documents, and standardized computer input-output data. Conducts move‑in, move‑out, and general inspections to rental units.

  • Knowledge of modern office policies, procedures, document, methods, and equipment.

    Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Ability to understand the policies, procedures, and services of the department or agency.
  • Ability to keep moderately complex records, to assemble and organize data, and to prepare reports from such records.
  • Ability to make computations and tabulations with speed and accuracy.
  • Ability to learn and utilize specialized language and terms.
  • Ability to understand and follow quickly and accurately written and oral instructions.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

Work is performed inside a stockroom/warehouse and outdoor in a variety of weather conditions and outdoor elements, such as: unknown & dangerous conditions/ unusual environmental stress, excessive dampness/chill, heat, humidity, cold/ inclement weather, dry atmosphere, intermittent/constant/excessive noise, slippery/uneven walking surfaces, grease, oils, dust, solvents, and dirt. Work involves moderate traveling, working around machines with moving parts, moving objects or vehicles, working on ladders or scaffolding.

Capable of working with protective devices, closely with others, and alone. Work requires operating mechanical equipment, office equipment, and motor vehicle; reaching above shoulders, pulling hand over hand, simple & dual simultaneous grasping, straight pulling, crawling, repeated bending, standing, sitting, walking, crouching, twisting, kneeling, stooping, pushing, climbing stairs & ladders, and light to heavy carrying and lifting (15 – 45 lbs & over).

Ability to see, write, count, read, identify shade of colors, depth perception, and hear are needed to perform essential functions.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Maintains and disperses materials for on‑going projects.
  • Keeps warehouse in an orderly manner.
  • Receives, confirms, and stocks all materials received from delivery via computer software.
  • Processes all invoices for payment.
  • Initiates and completes work orders on computer software system so it can be entered into processing and for distribution to supervisor or staff.
  • Issues tools and safety equipment to crews, replaces and repairs worn out or broken materials.
  • Loads and unloads trucks.
  • Picks‑up materials from vendors within the city and takes/picks‑up materials from project locations.
  • Assists in maintaining good communication between staff, tenants, visitors and other business contacts.
  • Must follow all rules of telephone courtesy in all telephone communications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or G.E.D. One (1) year of general office, inventory control, and warehouse experience.

Valid Licenses and Certifications
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License.
    * If applicant holds an out‑of‑state license, a State of Texas Driver’s License must be obtained prior to employment.
