Maintenance

Shift: 7:00am-3:30pm

Hours: 40/week

Wage: $16.50-$19.33

The Maintenance candidate will be working under the direction of the Environmental Services Director. This position is required to perform a variety of duties to ensure the property is clean, safe and well maintained both inside and outside. Prepares and maintains all equipment used at SJLC.

Required Skills

Prefer experience in maintenance and custodial fields.
Able to read, write and understand the English language. In order to be able to work in a safe manner with chemicals and read the MSDS book and chart necessary information.
The desire to work with the elderly and disabled.
Must have the ability to multitask and patience to switch to another duty, as needed.
High School Graduate or GED preferred.

Essential Functions / Performance Responsibilities

Daily assists for residents and tenants as needed, Examples: hang pictures, change light bulbs, move furniture.

Keep grounds and building neat and orderly at all times. This includes floor care, ground keeping care, and snow removal, maintaining a safe environment inside and outside.

General maintenance throughout the building, this may include painting, electrical repairs, and carpentry.

Maintenance and inspection roof, roof air units and etc.

Maintaining the tools and equipment used by all departments.

Assist driving the van to take residents to appointments when needed.

Trash and recycling removal from all areas of the building.

Inspect fire extinguishers on a regular basis and maintain a record of inspections.

Assist in fire and disaster drills and alarms.

Be aware of increment weather and be willing to assist as needed.

Follow safety guidelines, department policies and procedures.

Will be scheduled to be on an “On Call” weekend rotation.

Other duties assigned, as needed, by the EVS Director or Maintenance Coordinator.

Physical Requirements

Frequent bending, stooping, pushing and pulling. Occasional squatting, crawling, crouching, kneeling, climbing of heights and reaching above shoulder level. Job requires continuously lift and carry up to 25 lbs and frequently 75 lbs, employee to use hands for simple and firm grasping and fine manipulating, to work on unprotected heights, be around moving machinery and be exposed to marked changes in temperature and humidity.
