Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily maintenance activities for maintenance mechanics, technicians, and contractors.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all Mueller safety procedures and regulations.
- Enforce all company safety policies and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Conduct safety audits, toolbox talks, and job hazard analyses.
- Ensure proper lockout/tagout procedures and safe work practices are followed.
- Develop technician skills through mentoring and technical development initiatives.
- Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to maintenance team members.
- Facilitate effective communication between maintenance, production, engineering, and management.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability.
- Monitor work quality and ensure compliance with maintenance procedures and standards.
- Verify accurate completion and documentation of work orders in the CMMS system.
- Coordinate resources and manpower to meet maintenance priorities and production needs.
- Participate in root cause analysis and reliability improvement initiatives.
- Education:
Associate’s degree or technical certification in Maintenance, Industrial Technology, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a related field; equivalent technical experience may substitute for formal education. - Experience:
5+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment; 2+ years of supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
- Driving cultural change toward proactive maintenance practices.
- Experience with preventive maintenance and maintenance work management processes.
- Familiarity with CMMS systems.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Manufacturing and foundry plant environment.
- Must be able to climb and operate on catwalks, ladders, and equipment to troubleshoot maintenance problems.
- Represent the Company in labor‑management relations as set aside in the union contract grievance procedures.
- Hot and cold environments and some outdoor work.
- Shift work, overtime, or on‑call availability required.
