Maintenance, Maintenance Technician ​/ Mechanic

The largest housing authority in the State of New Mexico is looking for an energetic, conscientious, and detail-oriented individual who enjoys making a difference, being part of a team and takes pride in their career to work in our fast-paced office.

Compensation: $16.30 per hour ($33,904 annually) – $20.05 per hour ($41,704 annually). Starting wage for this position will be $16.30 per hour.

Under direct or general supervision, performs unskilled and semi-skilled craftwork in the maintenance and repair of AHA-owned properties; completes work orders for repairs in units, unit turn overs to prepare for new tenants, and outdoor maintenance and grounds work on buildings, landscaped areas, parking lots, and related facilities; performs routine preventive electrical and plumbing maintenance work; and maintains maintenance and repair inventory levels.

Required:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Some experience in unskilled maintenance and repair of buildings or grounds.

Preferred:

• Construction experience in rehab, new construction, remodel, residential
• Certificate in maintenance trades
• State license to apply pesticides

Required:

Ability to read and write English in order to understand and interpret written procedures and technical manuals. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from vendors, contractors, supervisors, co- workers, residents, and city/county agencies.

Preferred:

Bi-lingual (English/Spanish)

Ability to legally drive and reliable transportation are requirements of this position.
