At State of the Heart Recovery, the Facilities Custodian plays a critical role in maintaining clean, sanitary, and safe environments across all organizational properties. This position supports both client-facing and staff areas within a behavioral-health and addiction-recovery setting, ensuring spaces remain compliant with infection-control standards, safety protocols, and organizational expectations.
The Facilities Custodian performs routine and responsive cleaning, supports room readiness, maintains sanitation documentation, and interacts respectfully with clients and staff in occupied clinical and residential environments. This role requires strong attention to detail, consistency, and a commitment to trauma-informed practices.
• Perform daily cleaning of restrooms, offices, program spaces, residential areas, and high-touch surfaces.
• Follow established cleaning schedules and complete required sanitation logs accurately.
• Conduct biohazard cleanup in accordance with infection-control and safety protocols.
• Replenish cleaning supplies and ensure all areas remain stocked and functional.
• Operate custodial equipment safely and in accordance with training and guidelines.
• Identify and report maintenance issues, hazards, or unsafe conditions promptly.
• Support room setup and breakdown for groups, meetings, and program activities.
• Respond to urgent or emergency cleaning needs following client incidents.
• Travel between multiple sites as assigned to support facility operations.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when working in client-occupied environments.
• Follow all organizational policies related to safety, sanitation, and communication.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support facilities operations.
