Job Summary
Join the NM APTM (New Mexico Advanced Packaging Technology Manufacturing) plant in Rio Rancho, New Mexico as a Manufacturing Technician as part of Intel’s year‑round studentship program. This role offers hands‑on experience in semiconductor manufacturing, working on wafer movement and supporting production operations in a fast‑paced, clean‑room environment.
Responsibilities- Perform equipment setup, monitor production processes, and conduct quality checks.
- Assist in troubleshooting machinery and optimizing production efficiency to meet output goals.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Execute wafer movement functions within the NM factories.
- Apply knowledge and skills gained through hands‑on projects to support Intel business goals.
- Part‑time (20–32 hours per week during the school year, up to 40 hours during breaks/summers).
- Flexible hours aligned with student schedule, with shift options:
- Shift4:
Nights frontend (PM‑AM Sun–Tues, alternating Saturday nights) - Shift5:
Days frontend (AM‑PM Sun–Tues, alternating Wednesday days) - Shift6:
Nights backend (PM‑AM Wed–Sat, alternating Saturday night) - Shift7:
Days backend (AM‑PM Thu–Sat, alternating Wednesday days)
- Shift4:
Must be willing to lift up to 35lb (18kg) four times per day; frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching are required. Work in a clean‑room environment and wear coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, and gloves.
QualificationsMinimum Requirements: Actively enrolled in and progressing toward an AAS degree or certification in fields such as Automotive Technology, Aviation Technology, Electrical Trades, Heating/Ventilation/AC/Refrigeration, Industrial Automation Technology (Mechatronics), Machine Tool Technology, or a related area. At least one month of experience with basic Microsoft applications (e.g., Excel, Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications: Basic knowledge of electronics, equipment troubleshooting, installation, repair, and operations. Experience with hands‑on auto repair, welding, soldering, robotics, or crafting. Preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment. Team‑based work experience. Experience with schematics, drawings/diagrams, and integrated‑circuit fabrication.
LocationRio Rancho, New Mexico. On‑site presence is required. Relocation is not offered for this position.

Compensation & BenefitsAnnual salary range for hourly roles: $48,600.00–$53,700.00
USD. Compensation packages include competitive pay, stock bonuses, and benefit programs such as health, retirement, and vacation. Specific compensation details will be provided during the hiring process.
