New Mexico Department of Health's Turquoise Lodge Hospital is a facility that provides substance abuse treatment services to New Mexico residents. We specialize in medical detoxification, social rehabilitation services, and Intensive Outpatient services.

Our Housekeeping Section keeps Turquoise Lodge Hospital clean and provides our patient population a safe environment by following CDC recommended infection control cleaning practices.

Custodians will be leaders in keeping Turquoise Lodge Hospital clean and providing our patient population a safe environment by following CDC recommended infection control cleaning practices. Duties may include performing routine maintenance activities and notifying management of safety issues or observation of anything in need of repairs.

Custodians perform a variety of cleaning duties that include but are not limited to thorough routine cleaning and disinfection of patient, clinic, outdoor and office areas, terminal cleaning and disinfection, strip and waxing of floors, carpet cleaning, washing walls and windows, replenishing bathroom supplies and removing trash. Performing routine janitorial services; cleaning various types of equipment; working with the steps and precautions that need to be taken while dealing with hazardous waste;

and preparing requests to order supplies and equipment.

Adults who present with substance misuse and co-occurring disorders and Turquoise Lodge Hospital's staff.

Hospital Experience Is Preferred But Not Mandatory

No Prior Experience Or Training Required.

Employment is subject to pre-employment drug testing. Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive a Defensive Driving Course Certificate as a condition of continued employment within 45 days of employment.

Work is performed in an indoor setting and may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles or caustic chemicals. Lifting, pushing, pulling, transferring, and/or carrying up to fifty (50) pounds. Position may be required to work rotating shifts, weekends, overtime, and holidays.

This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement and all terms/conditions of that agreement apply and must be adhered to.
