• cleans bathrooms, offices, hallways, and any other assigned areas by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and polishing.
• empties and decontaminates trash containers.
• moves, rearranges, and dusts furniture and fixtures.
• mixes or blends cleaning solutions to proper concentrations as necessary for various tasks.
• strips, cleans, and polishes floors using industrial-grade machines.
• follows procedures for disposing of infectious waste.
• maintains custodial equipment; reports needs for minor building and/or equipment repairs to a higher-level custodian.
• sets up tables, chairs, and other furniture for special meetings, banquets, or other occasions as assigned.
• washes blinds, windows, and walls with prescribed solutions.
• operates wet/dry vacuum for cleaning and shampooing carpeted areas.
• strips, decontaminates, and makes beds for patients, residents, students, etc.
• may perform grounds work by picking up trash, watering plants, light mowing, weed trimming, etc.

• 30% cleans laboratories, studios, facilities, and other assigned areas by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, dusting, and polishing.
• 20% empties trash and recycling containers, transports waste material to outdoor refuse containers or recycling containers as appropriate.
• 15% cleans, strips, waxes and polishes floors using industrial size mops, and/or commercial type floor machines.
• 10% operates wet/dry vacuum, carpet extraction equipment, other commercial equipment as required for cleaning and shampooing carpets or cleaning up after water leaks or floods.
• 10% washes building interior windows, walls, fixtures, uses power blower to blow off debris from sidewalks, steps, and entrance ways to building.
• 5% unlocks/locks campus buildings utilizing assigned buildings, room and master keys. Has responsibility for security of all keys issued as part of daily assignment.
