Maintenance Assistant​/Baling Operator

Our client, the waste management and recycling industry, is seeking a Maintenance Assistant/Baling Operator to join their team. As a Maintenance Assistant/Baling Operator, you will be part of the Maintenance Department supporting the Material Recovery Facility (MRF) team. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn, which will align successfully in the organization.

$21.99/hour

Monday through Friday, 3 PM to 11 PM

• Operate and monitor balers to compact and bale sorted recyclables such as cardboard, plastics, and metals according to specifications.
• Label, stage, and prepare bales for storage or shipment to ensure efficient material handling.
• Assist with cleaning and maintaining processing equipment, including conveyors, balers, screens, and magnets, to ensure optimal operation.
• Support maintenance technicians with mechanical repairs, tool handling, and part preparation to keep equipment running smoothly.
• Operate heavy equipment such as front‑end loaders, excavators, and hook trucks to move, load, and organize materials within the facility.

• High school diploma or GED preferred; prior experience in an industrial or recycling facility is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license and experience operating forklifts or similar equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret site maps, load manifests, and safety procedures.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, bend, kneel, and work in confined spaces.
• Comfortable working in loud, dusty, and hot/cold environments, following all safety policies and procedures.
