About The Role
As a Back Plant Operator
, you will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and environmentally sound operations of industrial systems and equipment associated with Covanta’s industrial disposal process.
- Perform assigned operational tasks and inspections utilizing various types of designated industrial equipment and hand/power tools
- Complete routine inspections of assigned equipment and document details in accordance with facility procedures
- Troubleshoot assigned equipment and responsibly report issues and repair requests utilizing defined work order processes and procedures
- Utilize weekly activity books and critical items checklist to perform operational and equipment related function checks
- Safely perform lock-out/tag-out processes of equipment in support of assigned maintenance teams
- Additional duties as assigned to ensure safe and efficient facility operations
- High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred
- Valid driver’s license
- Must have experience operating heavy industrial equipment
- Must have the ability to work a rotating shift schedule

The Role
- Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climb
- Ability to lift/carry 50lbs
- Ability to work from heights and in confined spaces
- Qualify to wear a full-face respirator
