Public Area Attendant-; Part-Time

Job Title

Maintains cleanliness and order in the lobby and common areas. Provides prompt and courteous service to guests.

Maintains cleanliness of all public spaces including offices.

Cleans public restrooms and is responsible for maintaining supplies.

Vacuums and cleans carpets, upholstery, and curtains.

Completes daily, weekly, and quarterly cleaning checklists.

Dusts and polishes furniture, accessories, thresholds, baseboards, railings, elevators, stairwell voids, and window frames.

Cleans all windows.

Empty all trash materials from trash cans. Replace trash bags if used. Remove trash to the trash container.

Cleans public and service elevators (inside and out).

Notifies cleaning supervisor, maintenance department, or MOD about equipment malfunction, necessary supplies, or damages to floor covering, upholstery.

Attends all departmental meetings in person to improve communication and gain knowledge of products, services, and facilities.

Responds to customer inquiries and comments, providing timely and well-informed information to provide customer service.

Follows all safety guidelines to ensure the safety and protection of oneself, associates, and guests.

Education/Training Form

No formal education required.

Experience

Previous experience in the cleaning area is desirable.

Knowledge/Skills

Must have basic knowledge of general cleaning principles, use of cleaning products, and operation of cleaning equipment.

Must be able to understand and follow verbal or written instructions and communicate verbally and in writing.

Excellent vision necessary; emphasis on cleaning standards and quality control.

Must have upper body strength to lift up to 50 pounds continuously throughout the work shift.
