General Summary

Responsible for providing maintenance and groundskeeping services as needed and/or assigned; assisting in a wide variety of maintenance activities; addressing immediate operational and/or safety concerns; and ensuring that tools, materials and vehicles are maintained in good working order and are available at job sites when needed. Responsible for the proper care and disposition of agency property and equipment.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Perform a wide range of semi-skilled and general maintenance tasks, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, lighting, and minor repairs, ensuring work is completed within established time frames.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections of facilities and job sites; identify, report, and correct hazards; and ensure compliance with agency policies and OSHA/FEMA standards.
  • Track and document inspections, maintenance activities, and expenses; submit required reports, receipts, and documentation in a timely manner.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on facilities, equipment, and vehicles to minimize downtime and reduce the risk of further issues.
  • Ensure that all work orders are processed and completed in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for the safe operation of all agency equipment.
  • Operate company vehicles to travel to and from service locations, ensuring proper setup, secure positioning, loading and unloading of cargo, and safe return to base operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Facility Maintenance Manager to support transportation and operational needs.
  • Work Experience
    • Two years of prior experience in facility maintenance.
    Preferred
    • Understanding the six core competencies of risk management and the skills and ability to apply them in the non‑profit environment.
    Education / Certifications / Licensure
    • High School diploma or GED
    • Valid Texas Driver’s License
    • Must pass background check
    Skills
    • The candidate must have strong organizational skills
    • Analytical ability to detect and resolve errors.
    Physical Requirements

    If a preliminary offer of employment is extended, a physical will be required before the offer can be accepted. Light to medium duties include standing, walking, reaching, bending, talking for up to 8 hours a day. Requires ability to lift large and heavy equipment, parts, supplies, and boxes throughout shift. Must have ability to safely lift a minimum of 50 pounds without assistance and to push and pull up to 150 pounds with appropriate equipment.

    Requires significant demands on these physical requirements throughout the entire work shift and requires tasks to be performed in all types of weather conditions.
