Custodial Worker 1 – Overview
Step into the role of Custodial Worker 1 with the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources at Pymatuning State Park and help keep one of Pennsylvania’s most beautiful parks shining. This position supports the daily care of park buildings and grounds through routine cleaning and maintenance tasks. The role helps keep facilities safe, orderly, and ready for visitors throughout the year. As a Custodial Worker 1, you will perform the following duties:
- Clean and disinfect restrooms, showers, cabins, and other park buildings.
- Scrub, dust, and polish floors, furniture, and fixtures.
- Empty garbage cans, replace bags, and dispose of waste properly.
- Pick up litter, mow grass, trim turf, and clear snow from walkways.
- Replace light bulbs, make simple repairs, or report needed fixes to supervisors.
- Operate a pickup truck or utility vehicle to move supplies and cleaning tools around the park.
- This is a seasonal, full‑time position with no healthcare benefits. The season runs from approximately March 2026 until November 2026 at which time the employee will be placed on leave without pay. The employee will automatically be returned to employment in March 2027.
- Work a flexible schedule of 37.5 hours per week, including holidays and weekends as needed.
