Park Maintenance Worker; Semi Skilled Laborer - Beltzville State Park

THE POSITION

The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources is looking for a Park Maintenance Worker who enjoys hands-on work and improving outdoor spaces. This job lets you see the impact of your efforts every day as you help maintain park grounds, buildings, and equipment. You will be part of a team that supports safe and welcoming environments for visitors. Your work will help protect natural areas for future generations.

• Building Repairs:
  Carry out basic repairs to park buildings and structures using tools from multiple trades.
• Equipment Operation:
  Operate and maintain vehicles and equipment used in park upkeep.
• Grounds Care:
  Maintain turf, trees, shrubs, and general outdoor areas using a variety of tools and machinery.
• Painting Tasks:
  Apply paint or stain to park buildings, signs, gates, and other structures.
• Housekeeping Duties:
  Clean and supply park buildings and complete minor routine repairs.
• Safety Compliance:
  Follow all safety rules, maintain tools properly, and attend required safety meetings.

• This is a seasonal, full-time position with no healthcare benefits. There is not an option to buy into health care benefits. The season runs from approximately March 2026 until November 2026 at which time the employee will be placed on leave without pay. The employee will automatically be returned to employment March 2027.
• Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Wednesday - Sunday, with a 30-minute lunch.

• One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.
