The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing duties as directed by the Maintenance Manager for the successful operation of the Maintenance Department. It is essential that as a Maintenance employee, you will present yourself in a professional and courteous manner at all times while performing your defined responsibilities. You are responsible for always maintaining our high standards of Customer Service. Other duties may be assigned as required, depending upon the available time, business volume and other criteria as determined by your appropriate supervisor and/or Gerrity’s Supermarket.
Full compliance with current and future policies will be required to ensure that your work contribution is in the best interest of Gerrity’s Supermarkets. Position will require travel.
- Responsible for general store maintenance such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting.
- Experience in small engine and equipment repair is a plus.
- Proficient with Microsoft Windows and Internet.

- Comply fully with and enforce all safety policies and procedures
- Attendance at your job is essential to the overall function of your department
- Make effective and objective decisions regarding task priorities to maximize performance, productivity and results
- Use and maintain all equipment in good condition
- Always operate equipment with all safeguards in place and in good operating condition; observe the safe method of performing all duties
- Immediately advise store manager of any maintenance or equipment problems
- Be able to perform all duties and responsibilities in an efficient and satisfactory manner that meets the minimum standards for volume, productivity, accuracy, cleanliness, harmony, and safety established by the employer.
- 2 years experience in Maintenance
- Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
- Fluent English-speaking and writing skills
- Ability to hear, speak, and understand the spoken word
- Employee is frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and crouch
- Ability to read, write, analyze, interpret and understand the English language with sufficient proficiency in order to read and understand
- Must be at least 18 years old
