Job Details Position SummaryWe are looking for a proactive and technically skilled Parts/Service Technician to join our team in Alpena, MI. This role is essential in supporting our customers by diagnosing issues, troubleshooting equipment, and providing expert guidance on shredder systems. Key Responsibilities- Respond to customer inquiries related to shredder equipment, parts, and service.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and recommend effective solutions.
- Perform on-site and remote troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance.
- Interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints; guide customers through repairs.
- Send drawings and instructions to repair companies for accurate assemblies.
- Recommend machine modifications to meet specific customer needs.
- Quote replacement parts, pull orders, and calculate labor costs.
- Package parts and cutter heads; determine shipping costs.
- Address warranty issues and resolve workmanship or part defects.
- Collaborate with engineering to improve product design and resolve recurring issues.
- Track design changes and new parts that enhance product functionality.
- Work with manufacturing to ensure machines are assembled correctly.
- Coordinate powder coat colors for accurate matching.
- Pull job orders and confirm terms with accounts receivable.
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation using company software.
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Proficient in using diagnostic tools and computer systems
