Job Description — Utility Worker I — Alpharetta Campus )
Salary: $31,200 - $35,400 with benefits.
Location:
Alpharetta Campus (subject to change).
Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (shift subject to change).
- Walk assigned areas of campus to collect and remove trash and clean restrooms, offices, lounges, and common areas.
- Assist in special projects such as setting up and moving furniture for on‑campus and off‑campus events (e.g., commencements, concerts, convocations, plazas, parks).
- Use power (AC & DC) equipment to clean buildings.
- Collect recyclable materials from campus buildings.
- Assist with removing surplus items from campus departments or offices.
- Read work orders or follow instructions.
- Attach identifying tags or labels to materials and mark information on cases, bales, or other containers.
- Assist in emergency preparations such as clearing snow, ice, sidewalks, and driveways.
- Operate delivery trucks or other equipment to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
- Drive vehicles to pick up tables and chairs across campus or between off‑campus warehouses.
- Work in either a recycling team, campus setup team, moving team, or parking lot team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum hiring standards (MHS):
- High school diploma or GED.
- A valid Georgia driver’s license is required.
Preferred hiring qualifications:
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and strenuous manual tasks.
- Ability to operate warehouse, delivery, and power equipment such as large trucks, forklifts, hand trucks, and pressure washers.
