Lead Water Park Maintenance (Seasonal)
CLAYTON COUNTY, GEORGIA
PurposeThis position leads and works with other seasonal employees performing manual labor, maintenance, and repair work to maintain and repair Clayton County Parks and Recreation properties.
Essential Functions- Be the first to respond to accidents and maintenance needs within assigned areas.
- Respond promptly and effectively to any incidents or emergencies.
- Perform regular checks and inspections of restrooms, trash cans, concession area and other facilities to identify maintenance needs.
- Perform general grounds maintenance including grass cutting, trimming, edging, cutting shrubs, pruning trees, landscaping, and weed control.
- Police and control garbage; clean grills, pavilions, park equipment, vehicles, sidewalks, parking lots, litter and debris in and around park lakes, picnic areas, and perimeter areas; maintain bathroom facilities.
- Prepare pavilions and buildings for functions, setting up chairs and tables, and ensure cleanup after events.
- Maintain assigned tools and equipment; perform preventive maintenance and routine repair; keep storage areas organized; provide information and directions to the general public.
- Enforce safety protocols and water‑park rules to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for guests.
- Perform other related duties regarding maintenance of park buildings, grounds, facilities, equipment, and structures to keep the park ready for the public each day.
- Minimum 18 years of age; original social security card; driver’s license or government‑issued photo .
- Up to 32 hours per week; 6 months of previous maintenance experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to remain alert and focused during shifts.
- Good physical health; comfortable working outdoors in summer conditions.
- Available for work on weekends and holidays.
Physical Ability:
Regular and sustained performance of moderately physically demanding work, involving climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling and lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (20–50 pounds).
Sensory Requirements:
Ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors, sounds, odors, and depth; ability to communicate orally.
Environmental Factors:
Exposure to adverse environmental conditions such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, fumes, rain, temperature or noise extremes, machinery vibrations, electric currents, traffic hazards, toxic agents, or pathogenic substances.
Daily, including holidays, 8:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. (subject to change).
