Bring your automotive mechanical or vehicle restoration experience to Siemens Mobility as a Motors/Gearbox Assembly Technician, where you will rebuild critical locomotive components, expand your technical skills, and receive structured training to grow your career in the rail industry.
Shift: 5:00pm – 3:30am (2-3 months of training will be on 1st shift which is 6:30am – 5pm)
What your day-to-day will look like:
- Assemble, disassemble, and adjust mechanical components of engines and gearboxes.
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical systems.
- Read and interpret technical blueprints and diagrams.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to improve assembly processes.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on machinery.
This posting outlines the primary responsibilities of the role but is not all-inclusive; additional duties may be assigned in alignment with business needs.
To thrive in this role, you have:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical training in automotive mechanics or a related field.
- Minimum of three years of experience as a car mechanic or vehicle restorer; industrial or railway experience preferred.
- Proficiency with precision tools, measurement instruments, power tools, and equipment, with a strong commitment to safe operation.
- Ability to work effectively in a team, follow technical procedures, learn quickly, and successfully execute tasks.
- Ability to physically lift up to 35 pounds.
Candidates should be willing to work in non-climate-controlled environments and inclement weather if required or if applicable.

This position also offers a one-time sign-on bonus of $1,000.00, less applicable taxes, payable after 180 days of employement.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 per hour. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
