can you Unearth the Possibilities with Nufarm?

We are seeking a proactive Senior Import/Export Specialist (SIES) to manage the day‑to‑day import and export operations for Nufarm North America in Alsip, IL
. This role is responsible for handling shipment‑related issues and adjustments, serving as the subject matter expert and primary point of contact for all import/export inquiries.

The SIES will drive continuous process improvements to support seamless shipping, efficient customs clearance, and overall operational excellence. Additionally, the role ensures delivery performance requirements are consistently met at the lowest landed cost
, supporting both compliance and cost‑effectiveness across the supply chain.

Responsibilities
  • Manage day‑to‑day importing and serve as the focal point for all containers. This includes:
    • Single point of contact for any shipment lacking information to progress. Engage local and global vendors, Customs Broker(s), and other stakeholders to resolve. Obtain and authorize documents such as endorsements, guarantees, arrival notices, regulatory documents, and standard shipping documents.
    • Point of contact for all inquiries on delivery timing status. Conduct weekly data reviews with purchasing & planning to ensure updated “Hot” deliveries have timely arrival updates.
    • Initiate diversions as necessary. Coordinate revised documents, purchase orders, clearance, and delivery.
    • Provide cost inputs for decision making to various stakeholders.
    • Approve and manage vendor payments. Validate all invoices related to shipping/importing, match actual charges vs. the rate card, note exceptions for CIP, and review statements of accounts.
    • Provide occasional technical support for new US export lanes and secure documents for export (fewer than 5 new lanes a year). Ditto for new imports to Canada or the US if necessary. Ensure documents required by regulatory agencies EPA/FDA are obtained.
    • Work with Global Trade SME, Customs Broker, and other parties to resolve any compliance issue.
Qualifications

You bring at least two years of experience handling Dangerous Goods within a supply chain environment and two years in a Customs Coordinator role with either a customs broker or shipper. You hold a bachelor’s degree in Business or Supply Chain and possess a solid understanding of U.S. Customs and Import Laws (CFR 19). Your intermediate Excel skills, strong written and verbal communication abilities, and talent for building effective business partnerships support your collaborative, team‑oriented approach.

You are highly organized, detail‑driven, and proactive, consistently demonstrating initiative in your work.

Benefits

Our compensation structure is designed to reflect the cost of labor across various U.S. geographic markets. The base salary for this position ranges from $75,900 per year in our lowest geographic market to $96,700 per year in our highest geographic market. Compensation is determined by several factors, including market location, and may vary based on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. At Nufarm, we believe in total compensation.

Depending on the position, additional forms of compensation may be included as part of a comprehensive package, alongside a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
