Job Overview

Step into our Precision and Science Technologies division where precision engineering powers scientific innovation. We deliver high-performance pumps, fluid management systems, and aftermarket solutions for the world’s most demanding, mission-critical applications. We have an exciting opportunity for an EHS Lead supporting our IRP/MP/OB business based in Alsip, IL. In this role, the EHS Lead ensures compliance with regulations and policies, provides leadership and guidance on EHS programs, and conducts audits to ensure company and regulatory standards are met.

We are seeking a hands-on Safety Leader who partners closely with operations to embed safety into daily work and address issues independently. This is not an advisory role—you will be highly visible on the floor and fully accountable for owning and driving the safety program end to end, with clear expectations, strong structure, and disciplined follow-through. Safety is a core operational priority, not a tradeoff against productivity.

The ideal candidate brings deep, practical EHS leadership experience in an industrial manufacturing environment, ideally machining or assembly. You’ve built and strengthened safety programs, led meaningful changes, and elevated site-wide safety performance. You bring passion for safety, credibility with plant teams, and the ability to influence and deliver results without relying on formal authority.

If you’re ready to take ownership in a highly visible role, lead from the floor, and make a measurable impact on safety culture, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities
  • Safety Culture & Leadership: Builds positive, collaborative relationships at all levels of the site in creation of a zero-incident culture.
  • Establishes a behavior-based safety culture by coaching a team of supervisors and employees in promoting safe work practices, hazard identification, and risk management.
  • Establishes and lead a safety committee.
  • Provides leadership, cohesiveness, and vision in the plant for all EHS and sustainability-related matters.
  • EHS Policy & Compliance: Develops and manages EHS training for the plant, including minimum requirements, programs, and policies, and provides EHS PPE.
  • Manages the safety data sheet and new chemical request process and regulated reporting (Tier 2, TRI, etc.).
  • Establishes and maintains facility-specific management plans for environment: air, water, waste (hazardous and non-hazardous materials).
  • Implements applicable EHS policies, procedures, training, auditing, reporting, and tracking processes in compliance with Ingersoll Rand 37 standard works requirements; local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
  • Risk Management & Incident Oversight: Completes risk assessments and recommends control measures for all potential areas of concern.
  • Leads incident…
