Job Summary
Regional Engineering Manager (SEM) partner with SBU leadership in the North American, Canada & Mexico region. Ensures safe, reliable, cost-effective engineering outcomes while developing engineering talent and strengthening cross‑functional alignment.
Business Engagement & Organizational Leadership- Act as key engineering and business partner to SBU leadership.
- Translate business needs into engineering roadmaps, capital plans, and resource strategies.
- Lead strategic planning for growth, cost optimization, and network investments.
- Build relationships with Operations, Maintenance, EH&S, Finance, Supply Chain and other functions.
- Seek feedback to improve engineering value delivery.
- Lead, coach, and develop the SBU engineering organization.
- Set clear goals, manage performance, and maintain a culture of empowerment and safety.
- Oversee staffing, onboarding, training, and personnel engagement.
- Deliver engineering execution for plant facilities, equipment, tooling, and automation.
- Lead major SBU, regional, and network engineering projects.
- Establish accountability for project execution, capital deployment, and capital budget management.
- Monitor KPIs, project performance, and drive continuous improvement.
- Support maintenance excellence and lean manufacturing initiatives.
- Manage external engineering partners, suppliers, and contractors.
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Engineering.
10+ years of engineering and project management experience in a manufacturing environment.
5+ years leading engineers or technical teams.
Experience leading cross‑functional initiatives and capital programs.
Knowledge & Skills- Strong leadership capability and talent development.
- Ability to balance business strategy, people leadership and functional execution.
- Project and capital management expertise.
- Experience with lean manufacturing, maintenance excellence, and process improvement.
- Financial acumen: budgeting, forecasting, and capital justification.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills.
- Trust building across functional and organizational boundaries.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
Willingness to travel extensively (up to 50% of time), often with uneven distribution and short notice.
CompensationPay range: $142,500 - $242,600 per year.
Typical new‑hire range: $175,000 - $195,000.
Short‑term incentive may be available.
