Senior Reliability Engineer
Location: Onsite in Alsip, IL
Compensation: $100,000 - $120,000 / year plus bonus
Griffith Foods is hiring a Senior Reliability Engineer, a strategic position responsible for developing long-term asset reliability, implementing a mechanical integrity program, and ensuring the site complies with applicable standards and regulations. The primary focus of this role is to provide leadership, mentorship, and work direction to a multi-disciplinary group of in-house resources, as well as direction to contractors and inspectors.
This role will evaluate equipment reliability while making plans and recommendations to address challenges facing the assets. It will also provide procurement support to the Maintenance Department. This is an opportunity to work closely with Maintenance, Project Engineering, and Production to develop strategies, standards, and technical solutions needed to improve equipment availability and overall plant performance.
- Generate and report reliability KPIs
- Drive the critical contractor Preventive Maintenance (PM) Program, primary handler of procurement and hosting for these contractors
- Act as primary technical resource for maintenance and reliability
- Develop preventive/predictive reliability programs such as lubrication, vibration, and infrared thermography
- Refine PM processes, assess effectiveness, improve asset uptime, and resolve equipment concerns
- Develop and execute small capital projects for reliability improvement
- Manage resolution planning for long-term reliability concerns
- Assess equipment performance data and ensure optimal and efficient performance of plant assets
- Assist in corrective‑maintenance, preventive‑maintenance and/or project cost estimation
- Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) process for assets experiencing downtime
- Drive resolution of highest impact issues with urgency and integrity
- Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering Program (Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or related fields) or 10+ years’ experience in Maintenance/Reliability Management
- Willing and able to travel up to 10%
- Currently possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United States; work visa sponsorship is not available for this role
- Enjoy solving complex, high‑impact problems
- Collaborate and provide feedback to Facilities Engineering regarding engineering design standards for machinery, and drive improvements with equipment designs
- Enjoy automation and are a systems thinker
- Desire to build reliable, scalable, and resilient systems
This role is affiliated to Alsip, IL location, and candidates should be able to commute to Alsip. Occasional travel to other locations for meetings may be required.
