Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Plant Controller (with solid experience in SAP) to oversee all financial activities at our Alsip site. The role reports to the Finance Director and offers a dotted line relationship to the Operations Leader. This high‑impact position will partner with manufacturing and commercial teams to drive cost efficiencies, revenue growth, margin expansion, and net working capital optimization.

Responsibilities
  • Managerial Reporting: Provide insightful month‑end analytical reporting that contextualizes financial results, trends, risks and opportunities.
    • Examples include monthly operating reviews, weekly shipping trends, order rates, backlog, and NWC metrics such as inventory performance.
  • Control Environment: Champion strong financial controls by adhering to SOX narratives and collaborating with internal & external audit teams to identify and resolve gaps. Foster a culture of compliance among direct reports.
    • Key processes include revenue cut‑off, warranty, obsolescence and other valuation reserves, account reconciliations.
  • ERP (SAP) Process Improvements: Drive improvements to ERP configurations and automation through process changes and standard work creation.
  • Forecasting / Budgeting: Support the administration of timely and accurate forecasts of commercial outlooks. Develop relationships with financial and business stakeholders by assessing P&L and balance‑sheet risks and opportunities.
    • Key forecast deliverables: revenue estimation, shipments, conversion and material price variance incorporation, direct and indirect spending.
    • Key budget deliverables: timely development of top‑line growth expectations and corresponding production and spend data per corporate guidance.
  • Liaison to PT and Corporate Leadership: Facilitate timely responses to requests from shared financial service, corporate FP&A, and PT leadership to ensure optimal business performance.
    • Examples include support for intercompany profit elimination, insurance programs, treasury collaboration, managing PD AR via shared services, and other initiatives.
  • Business Partnership: Participate and lead business processes such as IRX (Ingersoll Rand Execution Excellence) to realize tactical and strategic objectives.
    • Examples: lead a swim‑lane for Impact Daily Management teams.
    • Liaise with plant and cross‑functional leadership to provide analytical and decision support for margin expansion, forecasts, operating plans, and strategic goals.
  • Deploy Talent: Foster a work environment that aligns the team with corporate objectives while developing personnel, building redundancy, and ensuring business continuity.
    • Examples: succession planning, personnel development plans, engagement enhancement.
    • The role serves as coach and mentor to all direct and indirect reports.
Required Qualifications
  • Ability to drive performance and support colleagues toward team goals while focusing on deliverables.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including influencing and coaching teams toward financial objectives.
  • Strong numerical skills, analytical thinking, and structured approach applying accounting acumen to a manufacturing environment.
  • B.S. in Accounting, Finance, or related business concentrations.
  • 10+ years of experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • ~10% travel required.
