SALARY: $21.55 PER HOUR

Rotating Schedule – Morning and Evening Shifts available. Weekdays, weekends and holidays required.

- High School Diploma or GED.
- One year’s experience in preparing meals in a food service facility.
- No disqualifying events on criminal background check.
- No disqualifying events on Health Care Workers Registry.
- Pass pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
To prepare and serve meals to participants according to their prescribed diets. Maintain kitchen and serving area in sanitary condition. When not working as a cook, performs duties of a Direct Support Person.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES- Prepare food for participants in accordance with dietary regulations, policies and procedures regarding food preparation, sanitation and participant care.
- Assure diets are served as ordered by physician and calculated by a registered dietician.
- Complete thorough cleaning of all food service areas and appliances according to department schedules, policies and procedures.
- Maintain current diet order for each participant, adequate supply of staple and emergency food, recipe files, menu substitution records, food purchases and inventory of food items.
- Maintain accurate and updated records of diets, supplement lists, adaptive equipment.
- Administer medications per physician’s order (as indicated on MAR) and document the same in the record.
- Escort and advocate for participants on medical appointments. Ensure medical paperwork and new orders are forwarded to the RN and House Manager.
- Escort participants on community activities, facilitate their full inclusion and act as a representative of Park Lawn. This includes driving facility vehicles to and from activities; ensuring the safety of each participant while on activities; remain responsible and accountable for all monies used during the activity. Stay with participants until relief staff arrives or management staff otherwise instructs you.
