Are you a driven HR professional looking to join a dynamic and growing organization? Food & Paper Supply, an established food and paper distributor located in the south suburbs of Illinois (Alsip), is seeking a high-energy, detail-oriented individual with at least two years of hands‑on HR experience.
This is a full‑time, 100% in‑office position. The ideal candidate will be a self‑starter who can work independently while leveraging available resources and collaborating effectively with leadership.
Position Overview- Recruiting and onboarding for both warehouse and office positions
- Administering the new hire process and orientation programs to foster a positive employee experience
- Processing payroll and administering employee health and welfare benefits
- Acting as a liaison between management and employees, addressing questions, interpreting policies, and resolving workplace issues
- Advising managers on organizational policies, including equal employment opportunity and harassment prevention
- Investigating and reporting workplace incidents; coordinating safety initiatives and managing the safety committee
- Maintaining personnel records and compiling reports on HR metrics such as hires, terminations, performance evaluations, and absenteeism
- Representing the organization in employee‑related hearings and investigations
- Partnering with an outsourced HR Consultant to deliver high‑quality HR services
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of HR experience (internships considered)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage employees at all levels
- Spanish language skills strongly preferred
- Experience working with hourly and/or unionized employees is a plus
- Solid understanding of employment laws and HR best practices
- Highly organized with excellent planning and prioritization skills
- Results‑oriented with a strong sense of urgency and high work capacity
- Self‑motivated, enthusiastic, and team‑oriented
- Detail‑oriented with a high level of confidentiality and professionalism
- PHR certification (preferred) or currently in progress
