Your Role

The Janitorial Services Manager is responsible for securing and managing revenue funding contracts for Janitorial Services. This position is also responsible for direct supervision of the Operations Manager, Janitorial Administrative Assistant, Rest Area Coordinator, and oversight of all services provided by the Janitorial Department. This includes ensuring all buildings and contract sites are maintained according to specifications and in accordance with determined standards of quality.

Responsibilities
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include but are not limited to recruiting, onboarding, and training employees; performance management and conflict resolution.
  • Successfully solicit and procure Janitorial Services contracts, both state and private, including estimating costs and developing price quotes for customers.
  • Develops and implement an effective quality control program to assure customer satisfaction.
  • Ensures the Janitorial Services department is in compliance with all applicable regulations and guidelines, including, but not limited to OSHA, DOL, and IDOT.
  • Manages and purchases equipment and supplies for department and oversees maintenance of equipment.
  • Oversees scheduling of staff to ensure adequate coverage and quality of services per location, to meet site needs and contract requirements as applicable.
  • Assists with fiscal projections for the agency’s annual budget and manages department operations within established budget, closely monitoring budget projections. Monitors staff hours worked per pay period to minimize overtime and ensure hours are within budget.
  • Provides regular detailed reports that can be used to determine costs and profitability.
Qualifications
  • Associate Degree required; business operations experience in social services/service related setting may be considered in lieu of education requirement.
  • Minimum of three (3) years previous supervisory experience, including budgeting, cost review, sales/contracts, and training in service or service related occupations: janitorial services environment preferred.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written and excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong administrative, math and general organization skills. Must also possess effective time-management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Knowledge of janitorial related tasks, procedures, and equipment.
  • Valid Illinois driver’s license and documentation of current auto insurance with an acceptable motor vehicle report.
  • Employee is required to possess the skill and ability to utilize all applicable technology and computer programs related to his/her position.
