Position: Packaging Operator – Second Shift
Location: Onsite, Alsip, IL
Shift &
Hours:
Monday–Friday, 2:00pm – 10:30pm
Hiring Rate: $23.18 per hour (plus 5% shift differential). 2‑Year earning potential: $23.97/hr after 6 months, $24.77/hr after 12 months, $25.56/hr after 24 months.
Responsibilities- Complete production reports documenting performance.
- Enter transactions into RF equipment.
- Adjust equipment during operation to meet quality and productivity standards.
- Dump product into hopper for filling.
- Perform change‑over by setting up auger, funnel, tubing and former for specific lines and/or products.
- Clean and wash line and equipment, and clean work area and equipment at end of shift.
- Load and set film or units for form fill machines.
- Report any product quality deviations or mechanical failures to maintenance or management.
- Adhere to all department procedures and GMPs, including precise instructions.
- Must be able to regularly lift or carry up to 50 pounds during the shift.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English, including understanding instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence; and to communicate with individuals and small groups.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX and Red Zone software, or ability to acquire such knowledge.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed, including Saturdays.
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch for extended periods.
- Comfortable working with allergens and cleaning chemicals.
- Must currently be at least 18 years old and possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United States; work‑visa sponsorship is not available.
Frequent sitting, standing, and walking required; occasional lifting or moving up to 50 pounds; safe navigation of stairs and ladders.
Environmental ConcernsRegular exposure to moving mechanical parts and electrical shock risk; occasional wet or humid conditions; exposure to dust and odor; loud noise levels requiring hearing protection in designated areas.
