Job Title

Mixing Operator – First Shift

Employment Location

Onsite in Alsip, Illinois

Shift & Hours

Monday – Friday (6:00 am – 2:30 pm)

Compensation

Base rate: $23.18/hr. 2‑Year earning potential based on continuous learning progression:

  • 6months: $23.97/hr
  • 12months: $24.77/hr
  • 24months: $25.56/hr
Responsibilities
  • Safely operate production equipment.
  • Verify accurate counts of raw materials needed to produce a blended product.
  • Add raw materials to the blender following the manufacturing sequence on the formula.
  • Discharge blended product from the blender using the prescribed screen size.
  • Follow specified customer sampling requirements of blended product.
  • Fill out the daily schedule control to document production, quality, and performance.
  • Clean and sanitize the production equipment, tools, and work area.
  • Dispose of trash and garbage containers.
  • Support British Retail Consortium (BRC) audit requirements, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and legal standards.
Qualifications
  • Regularly lift or carry up to 50 pounds throughout the shift.
  • Read, write, and speak English fluently, including comprehension of instructions, brief correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence; and to communicate with individuals and small groups.
  • Perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics AX or Red Zone.
  • Available to work overtime as needed, including Saturdays.
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch for extended periods during the shift.
  • Comfortable working with and around allergens and cleaning chemicals.
  • Current age 18 or older and possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
  • Work visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
Preferred Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least 3 months of experience or training in a USDA‑regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Experience operating mixing or blending equipment.
  • Familiarity with food safety requirements.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX and Red Zone ERP software.
Physical Requirements

Must sit, stand, and walk to communicate and listen effectively in both office and plant environments. Must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds and safely navigate stairs and ladders.

Environmental Concerns

Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock; occasional exposure to wet or humid conditions, high, precarious places, and vibration. Noise level is usually loud; hearing protection required in designated areas. Dust and odor present.
